Sorry you're having problems with the game! This page contains information about common problems with the game and solutions which should hopefully get the game working. At the bottom of the page you'll also find information on how to contact me if you still can't get the game working.
Game Doesn't Start At All
If you're playing the game from Steam, before you do anything else, verify the game cache files to make sure that the game is installed and none of the game files are damaged. This Steam support article explains how to do that.
Super Amazing Wagon Adventure uses .NET 4.0 and XNA 4.0 Refresh. If the game doesn't run at all it's most likely a problem with your .NET or XNA installations. If can, try running a different XNA game and see if it works. XNA is used by a number of other games including Magicka, Terraria, Rogue Legacy, DLC Quest, and Dead Pixels.
If other XNA games don't run either, I'd recommend you uninstall and reinstall XNA. Remove any existing XNA 4.0 installations from the Add/Remove Programs menu in your Control Panel and then download and run the XNA 4.0 Refresh installer from here.
If you use any anti-virus software, make sure your anti-virus software isn't blocking the game from running. Check your anti-virus history and look for anything related to WagonAdventure.exe.
Game Doesn't Save
If you're getting error messages related to saving / loading it could be that your save file is empty or damaged. Sometimes anti-virus software blocks the game from writing to the save folder which can cause the game's save file to be empty. This then causes an error when the game tries to load the save file.
Try backing up your save and deleting the original file. The game's save file is "save.xml" located in "Documents\SavedGames\WagonAdventure\WagonAdventure\AllPlayers". By deleting this file you will lose your game progress (any unlocked wagons or high scores), so make sure you make a back up. If deleting the save fixes things and you want to get your unlocked wagons back, send me an email (see below) and I can help you edit or repair the save.
If you keep getting save errors even after deleting your save file, make sure you have permission to write to the save folder. Right click the SavedGames folder and click Properties. Click on the Security tab and make sure the account you are running the game from has permission to read and write to the folder.
