Go Plague Monkey! Go! Update

It's been a while since I've updated this site! Until today the games page still listed Go Plague Monkey! Go! as having a planned 2013 release. Oops. Obviously I missed that date. But it's for the best! Development of the game has been going very well, and the game is becoming something bigger and better than I initially imagined.

I originally planned for Go Plague Monkey! Go! to be similar in size to Super Amazing Wagon Adventure--a $1 to $3 game that took 6 to 9 months to develop. However, the more I've worked on the game the more potential I've seen in it, and because of that I've let it become something more than originally planned. At this point I'm working towards a late Summer early Fall release. Unfortunately with the longer development process, I'm no longer planning to release the game on Xbox Live Indie Games (XBLIG). With the arrival of the Xbox One and PS4, the Xbox 360 and XBLIG are slowly fading away, and unfortunately neither the Xbox One or PS4 have an equivalent open marketplace for small indie games. The good news is that the PC indie gaming market continues to thrive. I'm currently planning to release Go Plague Monkey! Go! for Windows PC first and then decide what other platforms I should try to support, with Mac and Linux the main candidates. I hope this platform change isn't a major disappointment.

If you'd like to follow the development, the best place to do so is on Twitter. I also have a Twitch channel where I occasionally stream Go Plague Monkey! Go! playtests. I'm excited to finish the game and share what I've been working on all this time!
